In this paper, we prove that the derivative of the Iwasawa power series associated to p-adic L-functions of $\mathbb Q(\zeta\_p)$ are not divisible by p. This extends previous results obtained by Ferrero and Washington in 1979.

We study two criterions of cyclicity for divisor class groups of functions fields, the first one involves Artin L-functions and the second one involves "affine" class groups. We show that, in general, these two criterions are not linked.

The paper determines the algebraic and logic structure of the multiset semantics of the core patterns of SPARQL. We prove that the fragment formed by AND, UNION, OPTIONAL, FILTER, MINUS and SELECT corresponds precisely to both, the intuitive multiset relational algebra (projection, selection, natural join, arithmetic union and except), and the multiset non-recursive Datalog with safe negation.

In this paper we study the behavior of the function omega of Anderson-Thakur evaluated at the elements of the algebraic closure of the finite field with q elements F_q. Indeed, this function has quite a remarkable relation to explicit class field theory for the field K=F_q(T). We will see that these values, together with the values of its divided derivatives, generate the maximal abelian extension of K which is tamely ramified at infinity. We will also see that omega is, in a way that we will...

In this addendum to arXiv:1110.0292 we prove a function field analogue of the Spiegelungssatz. It provides a relation between the Galois module structure of the class group of a cyclotomic function field, and the Galois module structure of the class module introduced by the second author. The result is already implicit in earlier work of the authors, but not stated explicitly.

Recently the second author has associated a finite $\F_q[T]$-module $H$ to the Carlitz module over a finite extension of $\F_q(T)$. This module is an analogue of the ideal class group of a number field. In this paper we study the Galois module structure of this module $H$ for `cyclotomic' extensions of $\F_q(T)$. We obtain function field analogues of some classical results on cyclotomic number fields, such as the $p$-adic class number formula, and a theorem of Mazur and Wiles about the Fitting...

In this note, we investigate the p-adic behavior of Weil numbers in the cyclotomic $\mathbb Z\_p$-extension of $\mathbb Q(\zeta\_p).$ We determlne the characteristic ideal of the quotient of semi-local units by Weil numbers in terms of the characteristic ideals of some classical modules that appear in Iwasawa Theory.

This paper presents a thorough study of negation in SPARQL. The types of negation supported in SPARQL are identified and their main features discussed. Then, we study the expressive power of the corresponding negation operators. At this point, we identify a core SPARQL algebra which could be used instead of the W3C SPARQL algebra. Finally, we analyze the negation operators in terms of their compliance with elementary axioms of set theory.

We study numerically the zero temperature Random Field Ising Model on cubic lattices of various linear sizes $L$ in three dimensions. For each random field configuration we vary the ferromagnetic coupling strength $J$. We find that in the infinite volume limit the magnetization is discontinuous in $J$. The energy and its first $J$ derivative are continuous. The approch to the thermodynamic limit is slow, behaving like $L^{-p}$ with $p \sim .8$ for the gaussian distribution of the random field....

We study the critical behavior of the random q-state Potts model in the large-q limit on the diamond hierarchical lattice with an effective dimensionality $d_{\rm eff} > 2$. By varying the temperature and the strength of the frustration the system has a phase transition line between the paramagnetic and the ferromagnetic phases which is controlled by four different fixed points. According to our renormalization group study the phase-boundary in the vicinity of the multicritical point is...

In the current SPARQL specification the notion of correlation and substitution are not well defined. This problem triggers several ambiguities in the semantics. In fact, implementations as Fuseki and Virtuoso assume different semantics. In this technical report, we provide a semantics of correlation and substitution following the classic philosophy of substitution and correlation in logic, programming languages and SQL. We think this proposal not only fix the current ambiguities and problems,...

We study phase-transitions of the ferromagnetic $q$-state Potts chain with random nearest-neighbour couplings having a variance $\Delta^2$ and with homogeneous long-range interactions, which decay with the distance as a power $r^{-(1+\sigma)}$, $\sigma>0$. In the large-$q$ limit the free-energy of random samples of length $L \le 2048$ is calculated exactly by a combinatorial optimization algorithm. The phase-transition stays first-order for $\sigma < \sigma_c(\Delta) \le 0.5$, while the...

Using group theoretical and numerical methods we have calculated the exact energy spectrum of the two-dimensional Hubbard model on square lattices with four electrons for a wide range of the interaction strength. All known symmetries, i.e.\ the full space group symmetry, the SU(2) spin symmetry, and, in case of a bipartite lattice, the SU(2) pseudospin symmetry, have been taken explicitly into account. But, quite remarkably, a large amount of residual degeneracies remains giving strong evidence...

The energy level statistics of the Hubbard model for $L \times L$ square lattices (L=3,4,5,6) at low filling (four electrons) is studied numerically for a wide range of the coupling strength. All known symmetries of the model (space, spin and pseudospin symmetry) have been taken into account explicitly from the beginning of the calculation by projecting into symmetry invariant subspaces. The details of this group theoretical treatment are presented with special attention to the nongeneric case...

We present a statistical analysis of spectra of transfer matrices of classical lattice spin models; this continues the work on the eight-vertex model of the preceding paper. We show that the statistical properties of these spectra can serve as a criterion of integrability. It provides also an operational numerical method to locate integrable varieties. In particular, we distinguish the notions of integrability and criticality considering the two examples of the three-dimensional Ising critical...
